Herniated Disk

General Information

Spinal disks are cushions separating the bones of the spine. A disk becomes ruptured, herniated or slipped when there is a sudden or gradual break in the supportive ligaments surrounding a spinal disk.  The disks of the neck or lower spine are the most common sites for this type of injury.
